Local Confectionary Observes 41st Anniversary This Week
The Bon Bon Shop, formerly McCluggage's Confectionary, 504 Main st., is celebrating its 41st anniversary this week.
The confectionary has been a meeting place for Coshocton school children for more than four decades.
When the telephone rings it is generally a call concerning a "date" for one of the teen-agers, just as it used to be when their parents and grandparents spent after-school hours enjoying ice cream sodas around old fashioned wire-legged tables.
Started originally by J. E. Hisong, the store was purchased by Harry McCluggage, Sept. 22, 1920.  One year later Charles McCluggage bought the store from his brother, operating it until March 3, 1945, when he sold it to Isaac Sells.  On June 1, 1946, the business was purchased by George Washburn, the present owner....
